Govt tax collection effort falls to 12.8%

MANILA, Philippines - The government’s tax effort fell by 1.3 percentage points to 12.8 percent in 2009 from 14.1 percent in 2008 signalling continued leakages in tax administration, Department of Finance (DOF) data showed.
