MAY MGA KAPANSANAN SA QC SAGOT NI MIKE DEFENSOR

Sasagutin ni mayoralty candidate Mike Defensor ang kapakanan ng mga may kapansanan o people with disabilities sa lungsod (PWDs) upang matiyak na matutugunan ang pangangailangan ng mga ito sa pamamagitan ng paglikha ng mga programa at proyekto na nakasentro sa kanilang hanay.

 “Hindi dapat ituring na pasanin sa lipunan ang mga taong may kapansanan. Sa halip ay dapat natin silang palakasin at bigyan ng pagkakataong makaagapay sa pagsusulong ng kaunlaran sapagkat tulad din ng iba, naniniwala ako sa kanilang kakayahan,” pahayag ni Mike Defensor.

Bubuo si Defensor ng mga institusyon para sa mga PWDs na tutugon sa rehabilitasyon, edukasyon at pagsasanay ng mga ito kabilang na ang mga bagong teknolohiya na tutugma upang mabuo ang kanilang mga kakulangang pampisikal.

Pag-iibayuhin din ang implementasyon at pagbabantay sa pagpapatupad ng mga batas at polisiya para sa mga PWD, partikular na ang Accessibility Law at ang National Plan of Action for the New Decade of Persons with Disability.

Layunin din ni Defensor na mabigyan ng pagkakataong magkaroon ng kapital para sa pagnenegosyo ang mga PWD.

 “Ang mga kababayan nating may kapansanan ay tulad din ng pangkaraniwang mamamayan, may mga katangian at may mga pangarap para sa kanilang sarili, pamilya  at sa bayan, kaya naman gusto ko silang tulungan.” pahayag ni Defensor.

Samantala, tiniyak din ni Defensor na ipatutupad niya ang polisiya na nag-aatas na hindi dapat bumaba sa 10% ang mabibigyan ng trabaho sa mga opisina ng gobyerno mula sa hanay ng mga may kapansanan.

 “Malawak ang mga proyekto at programang posibleng isakatuparan ng pamahalaang lokal upang ganap na matulungan ang mga PWDs na mapalakas ang kanilang hanay at maging produktibong miyembro ng pamayanan kung mapagtutuunan lamang ito ng pansin,” dagdag pa ni Defensor.
